  • Great consistency from Linda Brook

Winter is definitely upon us and the course is getting pretty heavy underfoot. Unfortunately, our Glen Foursomes had to be postponed this week due to the predicted wet weather and will be rescheduled sometime in Spring. On the plus side, we are all quite excited about the prospect of the clubhouse re-opening from Monday 22nd and the Paperbark Restaurant from Wednesday 24th – see the Mansfield Golf Club website for details.

On to the results for the week.

On Tuesday, 9 ladies played 9 holes of stroke, and the winners were Sue Parsons for Div 1 with nett 40 and Linda Brook for Div 2 with nett 38. Sue also won the putting.

On Wednesday, 19 ladies took to the course and Linda Brook demonstrated her great consistency in all sorts of conditions, by scoring a lovely 35 points to take the win. Runner up was Nicki Cooper with 33 and 3rd place, Glenis Skinner with 31 points. Linda, Nicki and Marg Knapp shared the spoils for the special prize for best score on holes 1-6.

Just 3 ladies braved the conditions on Thursday with Glenis Skinner taking the win with 14 points for the 9 holes and no players on Saturday.

Next weekend the semi finals of the Bill Reardon Handicap will be played, so hopefully the golfing gods will put on some good weather for the finalists. Competing for the ladies are Glenis Skinner vs Margie Franke-Williams and Lesley Anderson vs Sue Parsons. Good luck to all.
