Tough, But Enjoyable Day at Bright

Well, what a tough day at Bright on Monday 29th February!

Mansfield Vets fielded what I understand is our largest entry so far – 16 players. However, we were clearly right out of our comfort zone with the unfamiliar layout, challenging greens and some tough pin placements. 

The daily slope rating was 74, 3 shots more than the course’s scratch rating of 71. It seems that most of us struggled with only 4 scores worthy of a ball or better – Dave Smithwick 37, John Hayes 35, Dave Lukey 34 and Ray Findlay 34.

Of the ladies, Meg Broomfield battled well for her 28 points.

Dave Smithwick took the bus kitty despite apparently 3 putting the final hole. As you can see, winners are grinners! 

Judging by the noise volume inside the bus on the way home, and despite the ordinary scores, a good time was had by all!
