• Men’s Golf Report Week Ending 6th January 2019

  • Well what a great two weeks of golf we have had over the Xmas/New Year break with hot scores being the order of period.
    Congratulations go to Mark Pearson upon winning the December Monthly Medal.

    Results for the latest rounds of golf.
    Thursday’s event saw a field of 67 happy and smiling souls fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event.
    The winner of Division One was Steve Daykin (18) with an impressive 41 points on a countback from Adam Holt (14) also with 41 points.
    The winner of Division Two was Trevor Wright (20) also with an impressive 41 points on a countback from Geoff Lowry (33) with 41 points.
    Ball run down went 35 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Trevor West on the third, Peter Vallance on the seventh, John Hickey on the ninth, Clive Marsden on the twelfth and Trevor Wright on the sixteenth, and nearest the pin second shot on the 18th went to Brad Grant. The best score on the par threes was Steve Chisholm, with the nearest the pin third shot on fifteen going to Tony Pridham. Nearest the pin third shot on the tenth for handicaps nineteen plus went to Len Foster.
    There were 2 rabbits for the day being Gary Henry and Geoff Morris.

    The December Monthly Medal, sponsored by Alliance Insurance was contested by a field of 55 players.
    The winner of Division One and the medal was Mark Pearson (11) with a fantastic nett 63 from Maurie Walsh (12) with a nett 7 on a countback from Chris Horsley.
    Division Two was won by John Koraus (16) with a nett 67 from Kerry Hartwig (21) with a nett 69 and Bob Cullen (16) with a nett 70.
    Ball run down went to nett 72 on a countback. Nearest the pins were Kane Blunt on the third, Rod Sargent on the seventh, Tony Crawford on the ninth, Peter Vallance on the twelfth and Adam Holt on the sixteenth. The nearest the pin second shot on the 18th was claimed by Shaun Wade. NTP second shot on the seventh was Gary Johnson, NTP second shot on the tenth was Rod Sargent. The best scratch score was taken out by Mark Pearson.

    Xmas Eve Tuesday saw a stableford event being conducted with 16 players participating.
    The winner of was Dion Sheahan (12) with 41 points from Rob Purcell (21) with 39 points. Ball rundown went to 34 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were on the third Mark Jones, on the seventh Geoff Morris and on the sixteenth was Graham Mear. NTP second shot on the eighteenth was Brad Grant.

    Thursday saw a stableford event being conducted with 32 players participating.
    The winner was Sam Sandhu (20) with a great 45 points from Kerry Hartwig (20) with an excellent 43 points. Ball rundown went to 36 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were on the third Sam Sandhu, on the seventh Jarrod Heath, on the ninth Jeremy Veneman, on the twelfth was Alex Stephens and on the sixteenth was Graham Mear. NTP second shot on the eighteenth was Rob Healy.
    The gold event went to Keith Millott (33) with 39 points. The two rabbits for the day were Glenn Douglas and Phil Conway.

    A stableford event was held on the last Saturday of 2019 with a field of 54 players with more great scores being returned.
    The winner of Division One was Stephen O’Sullivan (13) with 42 points from Phil Conway (13) with 40 points.
    Division Two was won by Nick Siperki (16) 40 points from Geoff Morris (16) with 39 points. Ball rundown went to 38 on a countback. Nearest the pins were Steve O’Sullivan on the third, Rob Purcell on the seventh, Dan Robertson on the ninth, Geoff Payne on the twelfth and Blake Harris on the sixteenth. NTP second shot on the eighteenth Dean Seccull and the tenth was Brendan Egan.

    New Year’s Eve saw a field of 28 keen participants competing in a stableford event.
    The winner was Ross Penny (11) with 40 points from Chris Leaman (14) with 39 points.
    Ball rundown went to 36 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Rob Fankhauser on the third, Tony Crawford on the seventh, Peter Dolling on the ninth, Sam Sandhu on the twelfth and Brendan Egan on the sixteenth. NTP third shot on the tenth was Sam Sandhu and on the fifteenth was Dan Robertson.

    The winner of Division One was Roger Eddy (7) with 41 points from Phil Conway (12) with 40 points.
    The winner of Division Two was Steve Daykin (16) with 42 points from Sam Sandhu (19) with 40 points. Division Three was taken out by John Hawkes (26) with 39 points from Bill Moran (30) with 38 points.
    Ball run down went 36 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Rod Sargent on the third, Tony Morse on the seventh, Mark Bettany on the ninth, Graham Mear on the twelfth and Phil Conway on the sixteenth, and nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth went to Steve McMahon. The NTP third shot on the fifteenth was Mark Jones and nearest the pin third shot on the tenth for handicaps 19+ was Sam Sandhu.
    The two rabbits for the day were Tony Crawford and Adrian Smith.
    The Gold event saw Geoff Lowry (29) the winner with 44 points.

    Saturday’s event saw a field of 22 players contesting a stableford event.
    The winner was Mark Jones (3) with a fantastic 42 points (three under) from Dave Smithwick (17) with 39 points.
    Ball run down went to 35 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Phil Conway on the third and Dave Smithwick on the ninth. NTP second shot on the eighteenth was Adrian Smith.
