• Mens Golf Report – Week ending May 29th 2016

  • Sunday May 29th saw the final round of the 2016 Club Championships being played in what was a theme across the entire duration of the Championships, as the weather gods once again put on a splendid display.

The overnight leaders in each division held healthy leads heading into the final round, but as they say…’anything can happen in golf’. As it turned out all four leaders held on, but not before a few scary moments for Alex Stephens in C Grade after returning with a final round score of 95.

Congratulations to the winners for the 2016 Club Championships:

    Club Champion – Dean Grining

    B Grade – Rod Sargent

    C Grade – Alex Stephens

    D Grade – Nick Jones

The golf course was in brilliant condition for the duration of the Champs, with the talk of the Superintendents ‘interesting‘ pin placements taking centre stage during post round drinks. One further topic of discussion post round was of the golfer who climbed one of the large gum trees on the course to play his second shot on the 5th hole……taking the motto ‘play it where it lies‘ more literal than some.
