• Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 5th August 2018

  • Tuesday’s event saw a smaller than usual field of 14 players out in some wintry weather for a stableford event.

    The winner was Brad Grant (8) with 34 points from Graham Smith (32) with 33 points.

    Ball rundown went to 31 on a countback. Nearest the pin on the third was Geoff Brown and on the seventh was Brad Grant.

    Thursday dawned with 43 golfers entered for the regular Stableford event with some good scores being returned. There were three players competing in the gold event.

    The winner of Division One was Michael Harrison (5) with 39 points from Chris Anderson (16) with 39 points.

    The winner of Division Two was Peter Dolling (21) with 39 points from Bill Taylor (26) with 36 points.

    Ball run down went 33 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Peter Vallance on the third, Adam Holt on the seventh, Chris Anderson on the ninth, Roger Eddy on the twelfth and David Wilson on the sixteenth.  Peter Vallance collected the NTP second shot on the tenth and Fred Rogers picked up the NTP second shot on the seventeenth. The rabbits were Nick Siperki and Dave Octigan.

    The Gold event saw Geoff Lowry (30) return to form to win with 38 points.


    Saturday saw a drizzly start to the Stableford event, with only 26 players out and about.

    The winner was Ross Penny (9) with 39 points from Alan Parrott (16) with 37 points,

    The ball rundown went to 34 points on a countback.

    Nearest the pin on the third was Martin Slack, on the ninth was Alan Parrott and on the sixteenth was Trevor Wright.

    Mark Jones collected NTP second shot on the seventeenth, and Rod Sargent picked up the NTP third shot on the fifteenth. The best sore on par threes was shared by four players.
