Men’s Golf Report Week Ending 25th October 2020

The Midweek Results

Tuesday’s fine weather brought out 44 players to contest a Gold Tee Challenge 2 person Gentsomes.
The winners were Nick Siperki and Dave Smithwick with 104 points from Geoff Morris and Phil Conway in second place with 100 points, with the pairing of Geoff Payne and Graham Clarke with96 points third on a countback.
Ball rundown went to 91 points on a countback. The last and second last pairings each received 6 golf balls.

Thursday’s event saw a field of 69 golfing enthusiasts fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event with some great scores being returned.
The winner of Division One was Dave Octigan (11) with 35 points on a countback from Mike Harrison (4) also with 35 points.
The winner of Division Two was Don Clutterbuck (20) with the score of the day – 38 points from Fred Rogers (18) with 37 points.
The winner of Division Three was Col Whytcross (21) with 36 points from Adrian Smith (23) with 34 points.
Ball run down went 33 points on a countback.
The hidden holes winner was Mike Harrison, whilst the best score on par 3’ and 5’s combined was Steve Daykin.

The Gold event had four competitors, with the winner being Geoff Lowry (21) with 29 points.
The Golf Premier League results were:
Sicarios (99 points) lost to Spuds (101 points)
The Internationals (100 points) lost to The Snake Pit (101 points)
BLM (99 points) drew with X-Factors (99 points)
The Fred’s (94 points) lost to TMG’s (107 points)

The weekend results

Saturday’s event was the annual Grand Final 2 person Ambrose, conducted in the afternoon after the rain finally stopped.

The winners were Ridley Plummer and Oliver Shaw (3) with a nett 62 on a countback from Mark Jones and Jimmy Herridge (7).
Ball run down went to nett 70 on a countback.

Sunday saw the semi-finals of the club matchplay being conducted with some large and close margins in the matches.
