• Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 23rd September

  • Congratulations this week go to Mark Jones on winning the September Monthly Medal on Saturday.

    Tuesday’s event saw a small field of 19 players out contesting a stableford event.

    The winner was Tony Crawford (6) with 40 points from Peter Baddeley (17) with 39 points.

    Ball rundown went 35 points. Nearest the pin on the third was Aaron Madsen, on the seventh was Dave Octigan and on the ninth was Domingo Diaz.

     

     

     

    Thursday’s event saw a large field of 66 very happy souls fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event, as well as three gold participants. It was also the third round of Golf Premier League.

    The winner of Division One was Tony Crawford (5) with a great score of 42 points from Gary Johnson (18) with a good score of 40 points.

    The winner of Division Two was Bill Taylor (26) also with 42 points on a countback from Bob Speed (23) also with 42 points. Ball run down went 38 points on a countback.

    Nearest the pins were Daryl Horwood on the third, Steve McMahon on the 7th, Dion Sheahan on the 9th, Blair StAnne on the 12th and Brendan Egan on the 16th. NTP second shot on the tenth went to Tony Crawford, on the seventeenth and eighteenth was Brad Grant. NTP third shot on the fourth was Mark Bettany, whilst on the fifteenth it was Tony Pridham. There were two rabbits for the day, and they were Dave Octigan and Steve Chisholm.

    The Gold event saw Geoff Lowry (29) still continuing with his good form taking out the event with 37 points.

    The Golf Premier League results were:

    The Hounds of Stableford (109 points) lost to X-Factors (116 points)

    The Backwards Team (110 points) lost to Hard Real Hard (114 points)

    Complete and Putter Madness (112 points) DEF TMG’s (106 points).

    Snake Pit (109 points) lost to The Misfits (112) points.

     

    Saturday’s event saw a field of 42 players contesting the September medal on a pleasant spring day.

    The winner of Division One and September Medallist was Mark Jones (9) with a great score of nett 66 from Craig Walsh (8) with a nett 72.

    The winner of Division Two was Fred Rogers (17) also with a great score of 66 nett, from Sam Sandhu on a countback. Ball rundown went to nett 74 on a countback.

    Nearest the pin on the third was Sam Sandhu, on the seventh was Kane Blunt, on the ninth was Maurie Walsh, the twelfth was collected by Tony Crawford and on the sixteenth was Brad Grant. Shaun Wade won the NTP second shot on the eighteenth, whilst Michael Cooksey picked up the NTP third shot on the fourth. Mark Jones also collected the JD Perks best scratch score for the day.
