    Gentsomes winners – Captains Day 2018

    Saturday’s event saw the running of the annual Captain’s Day Gentsomes event.

    The event was won by the team of Mark Jones, Jimmy Herridge, Brendan Egan and Dennis Sheahan with 107 points.

    Runners-Up were the team Steve Daykin, Perrin Gooding, Alan Parrott and Laurie Harcus with 104 points. Third place went to the team of Kevin Jacobs, Dave Octigan, Dave McKenzie and Maurie Walsh with 102 points. Line balls went to 101 points on a countback.

    Nearest the pin on the third was Perrin Gooding, on the seventh was Sam Sandhu, on the ninth was Rob Healy, on the twelfth and sixteenth was Alan Eustace.

    Special prizes went to Dennis Sheahan for NTP second shot on the tenth, Ross Penny for NTP second shot on the seventeenth and Rod Sargent for NTP third shot on the fifteenth.


    Tuesday’s event saw 34 players out participating for a stableford event.

    The winner was Brad Grant (10) with 41 points from Brendan Egan (17) with 40 points.

    Ball rundown went to 34 on a countback. Nearest the pin on the third was Taki Murakami, on the ninth was Rob Dundas, the twelfth was Geoff Brown and on the sixteenth was Rob Dundas. The NTP second shot on the tenth was collected by Doug Carney and NTP second shot on the seventeenth went to Tony Pridham


    Thursday’s event saw a field of 67 golfers out and about for the regular Stableford event with some excellent scores being returned. There were two players competing in the gold event.

    The winner of Division One was Nick Siperki (16) with a great 46 points from Trevor Wright (17) with 41 points.

    The winner of Division Two was Adrian Smith (22) with 38 points from Chris Durkin (31) with 37 points.

    Ball run down went 35 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Trevor Wright on the third, Rod Sargent on the seventh, Maurie Walsh on the ninth, Jarrod Heath on the twelfth and Adam Holt on the sixteenth.  Peter Vallance collected the NTP second shot on the eighteenth, Dan Robertson picked up the NTP third shot on the fourth and Rod Sargent collected the NTP third shot on the fifteenth.

    The rabbits were Geoff Lowry and Charlie Heath.

    The Gold event saw Les Wood (33) win with 41 points.

    On Sunday the finals of the Bill Reardon Memorial Matchplay were conducted.

    In the Men’s event, Shaun Wade was too good against Brendan Egan winning 8/7. Whilst in the Ladies event Nikki Coffey outlasted Leslie Anderson to win on the 29th hole.
