    The Midweek results

    Tuesday’s stableford competition had a field of 25 competitors.
    The winner was Peter Baddeley (16) with 40 points from Graham Smith (34) with 37 points.
    Ball run down went to 32 points on a countback. Nearest the pin on the third was Blair St Anne and on the sixteenth was Sam Sandhu. The hidden holes winner was Peter Baddeley and the nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth was Blair St Anne.

    Thursday’s event saw the regular Stableford event being conducted with fifty-two players in the competition. There were three competitors in the Gold event.
    The winner of Division One was Roger Eddy (9) with 36 points on a countback from Peter Vallance (6) also with 36 points.
    The winner of Division Two was Keith Murphy (26) with 39 points on a countback from Mike Irwin (25) also with 39 points.
    Ball run down went 33 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Phil Conway on the third, Mark Bettany on the seventh, Martin Slack on the ninth, Mark Pearson on the twelfth and Tony Crawford on the sixteenth. Nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth was collected by Fred Rogers and closest to the pin second shot on the tenth was Paul Cougle. The closest third shot on the fifteenth was Blair St Anne.
    The Gold event was won by Frank Zeidler (24) with 37 points.
    There were two rabbits for the day, being Peter Sargent and Mike Harrison.

    The Weekend results

    Saturday’s event was a stroke round for the August Monthly Medal along with a qualifying round for the JN Pickering. With fifty-three competitors vying for the spoils it was an entertaining day’s golf.
    The winner of Division One and the August medal was Mark Bettany (5) with an excellent nett 67 (1 over the card) from Daniel Walker (13) with a nett 68.
    The winner of Division Two was Bill Taylor (25) with a nett 70 form Bill Parsons (20) with a nett 71.
    Line balls went down to nett 74 on a countback.
    Nearest the pin on the third was Mark Pearson, on the seventh was Blair St Anne, on the ninth was Peter Vallance, on the twelfth was Bob Speed and on the sixteenth was Daniel Walker. The nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth was Danny Robertson, and on the tenth was Mark Pearson. The winner of the JD Perks scratch was Mark Bettany with a gross 72.

    With the advent of spring, it has been decided that “Preferred Lies” would be removed from Monday 2nd September.
