  • The Midweek results

    On Monday our trainee professional Blair St Anne ventured down to Latrobe for the latest round of trainee professional qualifying. He shot a creditable 4 over on the day to continue his ambition of becoming a pro golfer. Good luck in your next round mate at Berwick Montuna on Monday.

    Tuesday’s event saw a field of 12 players out contesting a par event in deteriorating conditions.
    The winner was Brendan Egan (16) with square on a countback from Peter Dolling (21) also with square. Ball rundown went to minus five on a countback. The hidden holes was shared between Brad Grant and Ross O’Meara. Nearest the pin on the third was Oliver Shaw and on the sixteenth it was Michael Aistrope.

    The Wednesday twilight competition had a par event on the back nine with thirty-five competitors. The winner was Josh Foots with plus one from Cody Cummins with square on a countback.

    Thursday’s event saw field of sixty-nine golfers fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event in warm conditions, along with two competitors in the gold event.
    The winner of Division One was David Smithwick (15) with 40 points from Mic Davis (9) with 39 points.
    The winner of Division Two was Josh Foots (19) with 41 points from David McKenzie (27) with 40 points.
    Ball run down went 34 points on a countback.
    The Gold event was won by Geoff Lowry (20) with 38 points.
    Nearest the pins were Trevor West on the third, Shane O’Brien on the seventh, Michael Harrison on the ninth, Andrew Downey on the twelfth and Geoff Morris on the sixteenth. NTP second shot on the eighteenth was Stuart Jarvis. The NTP third shot on the fifteenth was Michael Harrison, whilst the NTP third shot on the tenth for handicaps 24+ was Peter Hunt. The NTP second shot for handicaps 12 to 23 was Bob Speed. There were two rabbits for the day, and they were Jarrod Heath and Rob Healy.

    Saturday’s event was a stableford competition, with 50 players competing.
    The winner of Division One was Brad Grant (8) with 40 points from Oliver Pearson (+1) with 37 points (two under the card).
    The winner of Division Two was Wayne Desmond (29) with 41 points from Jason Wilson (25) with 40 points.
    Ball run down went to nett 33 points on a countback.
    Nearest the pins on the par threes were on the third Phil Conway, on the seventh was Steve Chisholm, on the ninth was Shane O’Brien, the twelfth was Blair St Anne and on the sixteenth was Mark Pearson. Closest second shot on the eighteenth was Dan Robertson. The NTP third shot on the fifteenth was Mark Pearson, whilst the second shot on the seventeenth for handicaps 12 to 23 was Ray Findlay. The NTP third shot on the tenth for handicaps 24 to 36 was Wayne Desmond.
