• Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 14th July 2019

  • The Midweek results

    Tuesday had a field of 25 players competing in a stableford event.
    The winner was Rob Dundas (10) with 41 points from Aaron Madsen (11) with 37 points. Ball rundown went to thirty-four points on a countback. Nearest the Pin on the third was Geoff Brown, on the ninth was Brad Grant and on the sixteenth was Shane O’Brien. The NTP second shot on the tenth went to Taki Murakami, whilst the best score holes thirteen to eighteen was shared by three players.

    Thursday’s event saw the regular Stableford event being conducted with thirty-one players in the competition. The winner of was Tony Pridham (10) with 37 points from Rob Healy (18) with 34 points on a countback. Ball run down went 32 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Bill Hammen on the third, Steve Daykin on the seventh, Nick Siperki on the ninth and Dave Octigan the sixteenth. Nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth was collected by Brad Grant and closest to the pin second shot on the tenth was Graham Mear.
    The Gold event was not held owing to the inclement weather.
    There were two rabbits for the day, being Jarrod Heath and Martin Slack.

    Saturday’s event was the Captains’ Day. A 4BBB Stableford multiplication event was held, with a “nice” hailstorm in the middle of the round.
    The winners of the Men’s event were Mark Bettany (5) and Aaron Knight (24) with 55 points.
    The winners of the mixed competition were Rod Sargent (3) and Lyn Poulson (24) also with 55 points.
    Line balls went to the pairings of Gary Johnson and Nick Jones, along with Linda Terry and Phil Conway. Nearest the pin on the seventh was Peter Vallance and on the sixteenth was Mark Bettany. The nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth was Rod Sargent, and on the tenth was Dave Octigan. The ladies nearest the pin third shot on the tenth was Millie Cumming.
