• Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 10th December 2017

    Now for this week’s results.

    Tuesday’s event saw a field of 25 players out contesting a stroke event.

    The winner was Graham Smith (36) with a great nett 66 from Peter Baddeley (17) with a nett 69.

    Ball rundown went to 73 nett. Nearest the pin on the seventh was Brendan Egan, on the 16th was Steve McMahon, and the Pro pin was collected by Bob Cullen. The best score on holes 7-12 was Adrian Lewis.

     

    Thursday’s event saw a field of 55 happy souls fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event, as well as seven gold participants.

    The winner of Division One was Greg Johnstone (18) with 40 points from David Octigan (13) with 39 points.

    The winner of Division Two was Geoff Morris (20) with 37 points from Jeremy Drew (22) on a countback.

    Ball run down went 33 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Bruce Beecham on the seventh, Rod Sargent on the ninth, Dale Daly on the 12th and Ross Vaughan on the 16th, and nearest the pin second shot on the 18th and the pro pin on the third went to Don Clutterbuck. The best score on every third hole went to Len Foster, whilst the best score on holes 13 – 18 went to John Gilson.

    There were 2 rabbits for the day, being Adam Holt and Bill Moran.

    The Gold event saw Geoff Lowry (32) still continuing his good form taking out the event with a great 46 points from Peter Healy (32) with 45 points. Ball rundown went to 42 points on a countback.

     

    Saturday’s event saw a field of 54 players contesting the Hew Blunt Memorial Ambrose event.

    The winning team of Alan Parrott, Rod Sargent and Michael Harrison had a score of 56.83 nett from Gary Johnson, Bill Moran and Phil Conway with 57.67 nett.

    Ball run down went to nett 60.17. Nearest the pins were Tony Cooksey on the third, Phil Conway on the seventh, Perrin Gooding on the ninth, Rob Fankhauser on the 12th and Bob Cullen on the 16th. The least successful team was Bob Speed, Fred Rogers and Andrea Marsden.
