• Mansfield Ladies Golf Report Week Ending 6th January 2020

  • It’s been a quieter time for our lady golfers as they enjoy the festive season with friends and family and perhaps try and avoid the heat and smoke! That said, the 9-hole comps on Tuesdays and Thursdays have been popular and our course Superintendent Tony Cooksey and his team, have the course in fabulous condition.
On Tuesday, 10 players took to the front nine for a stableford round and the winner of Div. 1 was Lyn Poulson with 15 points, and Div 2, Marion Sargeant with 16 points. Runners up were Glenis Skinner and Jackie Smithwick respectively, both with 15 points.
Our Wednesday 18 hole round saw 12 players out there and Millie Cumming took the money with a lovely 37 points. Runner up was Patsy Smiles, with 36. Line Balls went to Lyn Poulson 34, Linda Terry 33, Marion Sargeant and Robyn Baker both 32, Sheryl Sargent 29 and Jackie Smithwick 28. Nearest the pins went to Sam Bailey on the 3rd and Millie Cumming on the 16th.
Another good turnout for 9 holes on Thursday with Lyn Poulson excelling with 20 points and Marion Mitchell 18.
Lastly on Saturday, another stableford round resulted in another win for Millie Cumming with 31, Sam Bailey runner up with 30 and the nearest the pin on the 3rd going to Jenny Koraus.
Hoping that the conditions improve over coming weeks for golfers but much more importantly, for those in bushfire affected areas.
