Mansfield Ladies Golf Report Week Ending 23-02-20

With the course in spectacular condition after recent rains, our week started with 10 ladies playing the 9 hole stableford comp on Tuesday. Shelly Comerford continued her excellent form to take the win with 19 points. Runner up was Pam Abbott with an equally very nice 18 points.
On Wednesday, 21 ladies contested the twice monthly, Summer Cup round and shining on the day was Lesley Anderson with the best score of 38 points to win Div 2, while Gayle Wells took out Div 1 with 35 points. Great effort girls. Runners up were Millie Cumming in Div 1 and Nikki Coffey in Div 2, both with 33 points. Line balls went to Linda Brook (32), Marg Knapp (32), Shirley Nolan, Shelly Comerford and Marion Sargeant (all 31), Andrea Marsden (30) and Wendy Hunt (29). Nearest the pins went to Robyn Baker on the 3rd, Gayle Wells on the 7th and Sam Bailey on the 16th. Sheryl Sargent won the closest 3rd shot on the 18th. Nice to see the money being shared around!
Thursdays George Walker round once again had a great field of 12 and it was the Div 2 ladies who had a handle on the course with Jenny Koraus scoring the win on a countback to Pam Abbott, both with 18 points. (Pam’s handicap will be going south on recent form!). The Div 1 girls had a bit of a struggle with the winner being Patsy Smiles, again on a countback, to Donnalee Ross, both with 14 points. But how lovely to see Donnalee back on the course however after a long absence – who cares about the scores – great to have you out there Donnalee!
Lastly on Saturday, 11 ladies turned out to play Par, and the winner was Robyn Baker with a lovely score of +2. Runner up was Linda Brook +1, and line balls went to Sam Bailey, also +1, Jenny Koraus, Lyn Holland and Sheryl Sargent all square, with Sheryl also winning the nearest to the pin on the 3rd.
Our Div 1 ladies start their pennant campaign this week with a match against Myrtleford at Benalla. Good luck to the team.
