  • Sam Bailey wins Monthly Medal

We seem to have reached the end of the year at breakneck pace and our ladies are still busy to the end.

Wednesday was one of our Summer Cup stableford rounds, and we were very pleased to see Marion Foster back on the course, but also to see her win the day with a lovely 35 points. I think your work schedule needs to be rejigged to give you Wednesdays off more often Marion! Runner up was Lesley Anderson with 35. Line balls went to Nicki Cooper and Robyn Baker 34, Donna Sedgman and Shelly Comerford 33, Louise Calvert-Jones 32, Sam Bailey 30 and Marg Knapp 29. Nearest the pins went to Linda Brook on the 3rd, Lyn Holland on the 7th, Lyn Poulson on the 16th and Robyn Baker won the 3rd shot on the 18th. Marion Foster won the hidden holes.
Thursdays George Walker round saw Donna Sedgman have a standout round of 9 holes, winning with 22 points. Runner up was Sam Bailey with 19 points.
On Friday our girls took on Jubilee in the 4BBB summer pennant and as I had hoped, with the home ground advantage, we romped home with a big win. Linda Terry and Linda Brook combined beautifully to win 6/5, as did Shelly Comerford and Louise Calvert-Jones, who also won 6/5 and Nicki Cooper and Lyn Poulson won 4/3. This made quite a difference to the ladder and we now have a chance to be in the finals afterall, if we can score a win against Bright on their home turf this week! Good luck girls!
On Saturday a great field of 17 headed out to contest the November Monthly Medal, sponsored by Delatite Dental. With a voucher to win and a free dental check up on offer, Sam Bailey pulled out all stops to take the win with nett 75. Millie Cumming was runner up with 76. Line balls went to Shelly Comerford 77, Lesley Anderson 78, Donna Sedgman 79 and Gayle Wells and Robyn Baker both 81. Nearest the pins went to Shelly on the 3rd, Millie on the 16th and Robyn Baker won the putting.

Our Club President Nikki Coffey and Ladies Captain Linda Terry travelled to Melbourne to play in the Golf Australia Captains and Presidents Day on Monday. It was an opportunity to share ideas and meet our peers and was a very enjoyable day. The greens were incredibly slick and Linda loved them but with tough competition, sadly no prizes for either of the girls.
