• Ladies Golf Report – Week ending November 24th 2019

  • Our course has been in such magnificent condition over spring, but we were once again at the mercy of the weather gods when the storm last Thursday ripped through the course, taking down many trees and leaving a wake of debris behind. Huge thanks to Cooksey and his team, plus volunteers (especially Geoff Brown) who were out early the next day clearing our path before ladies summer pennant. A few less trees to dodge until some replanting is able to be done, but otherwise the course is back to its beautiful self. Well done everyone!

Tuesdays 9 hole Par event was won by Anne Watkins with a nice -1.

On Wednesday 19 players took to the course for a stroke round. Winner of the day was Linda Brook with a fantastic 69 – Linda continues to do serious damage to her handicap in still only her second year of golfing! Others to shine were runner-up Wendy Hunt with a lovely 71 and line balls to Nicki Cooper 72, Sam Bailey 73 and Gayle Wells, Lesley Anderson, Shirley Nolan and Linda Terry all on 74. Nearest the pins were shared around, going to Lyn Holland on the 3rd, Sam Bailey 9th and Shirley Nolan 16th. Lyn also was the nearest 3rd shot on the 18th, Sam won the chipping contest and Nicki Cooper took out the putting with 26 putts. Wednesday was also the semi finals of our Premier League but sadly a couple of teams were let down by no-shows of some players and the wins went to “Squirters” and “Hit and Miss”. These two teams will play off for the final next week. Good luck girls.

On Thursday 9 brave souls ventured out in the heat and wind with Donna Sedgman scoring a win with a lovely 22 points with Sam Bailey runner up on 19 points.

Our summer 4BBB pennant team played at home on Friday against Myrtleford, with the overall result a draw with one loss, one win and a draw between the 3 teams. Next weeks round is again at home against Jubilee.

On Saturday, 7 girls took to the course and Sue Parsons shone with 35 points to win, with Donna Sedgman topping off her nice week with 34 to take the runner up prize.
