  • Lady Golfers Enjoying the Autumn Weather

The Mansfield lady golfers have been out making the most of their golf in the beautiful autumn weather,  with a very full week of golf.

The week started off on Monday with 12 of the Mansfield ladies travelling to Benalla to play in the Benalla Bowl.

There were a lot of great results with six of our ladies all scoring below their handicaps.  Meg Broomfield and Patsy Smiles both with 37, Glenis Skinner with 39, Nikki Coffey with 40 and both Linda Terry and Sheryl Sargent with great 41’s.

Normally, these scores would give you a chance however we came away without any prizes!  Needless to say, Mansfield ladies were not the only ones who scored well.

In Tuesday’s 9 hole competition, there were eight ladies playing maybe our not so favourite game of Par.  It didn’t seem to faze some of the ladies though with Raili Vuorela coming in with a score of plus 2 from Sue Parsons and Kay Rose each on plus 1.

There were 17 ladies playing 18 holes of Stroke on the Wednesday.  Beware the injured golfer – Marion Sargeant lead the field in with a lovely nett 71, just pipping Marion Mitchell with a nett 72.

Thursday saw 4 ladies battle it out in the Stableford competition with Anne Watkins winning with an impressive 22 points.

Saturday, 9 ladies again played Stableford with Shirley Nolan taking out the competition with 33 points from Millie Cumming and Sue Parsons on 32 points.

Sunday was the semi-finals of the Bill Reardon Matchplay Championships.  Nikki Coffey defeated Louise Calvert-Jones on the 18th and Lesley Anderson defeated Shirley Nolan 4/2. Congratulations to the winners who will play in the final on 20th May.
