  • “Lady Golfers Out & About”

The competitions at home last week produced some very good results.

Six ladies played the Tuesday Stableford competition with Shelly Comerford playing to her handicap with a lovely 18 points with Anne Watkins continuing her good 9 hole form with 17 points.

Wednesday’s Par competition saw 22 ladies play in what may have been our last beautiful Autumn weather.  Captain Linda Terry won Division 1 with a square with Sheryl Sargeant runner up with minus 1.

Lesley Anderson also had a square to take out Division 2 from Lyn Poulson on a countback.  A worthwhile mention must go to Donalee Ross coming back from a bit of a break, with minus 1 and winning a line ball.

Four ladies braved the dire weather forecast on Thursday playing a Stableford competition.  Lorraine Wilson won with 14 points on a countback from Pam Abbott and Marion Foster.

Sheryl Sargeant and Lesley Anderson carried their good form through to Saturday to play in the mixed Glen Foursomes 27 hole competition.  Sheryl partnered husband Rod, to win the day with 105.75 points.  Lesley partnered Sam Sandhu to be runners up with 107.5 points.   Congratulations to all four players.

Now that Mansfield’s Bowl has been and gone, many of the ladies are taking the opportunity of playing Bowls and Tournaments at other Clubs.

First off, four ladies travelled to Euroa on Thursday to play in their Bowl.  Most players managed to finish before the predicted rain came.  It was a worthwhile trip for our Lady President Glenis Skinner who scored a great nett 69.  That score was well and truly enough to win Division 2 Handicap competition and also the Veterans competition.  Well done Glenis.

More ladies will be travelling in the coming weeks to Strathbogie, Jubilee and Myrtleford.  Watch this space for hopefully some more great results.
