Ladies Golf Report – Week ending July 22nd

Although fine weather continued for the week, not so many ladies took advantage of it.

Tuesday’s usual 4 players were joined by Mandy Faram from Shepparton Golf Club for the 9 hole Stableford and Mandy took the honours with 17 points with Anne Watkins a close second with 16 points.

Wednesday’s  Doris Chambers Foursomes Stableford event, sponsored by Millie Cumming had 14 players competing for the chance to qualify for the State Final. This can be quite an entertaining game with players, at times, putting their partner in a not so favourable position for their next shot. Sheryl Sargent and partner Nikki Coffey were the best pair for the day with 30 points, Linda Terry and Sue Parsons coming in second on a count back from Sam Bailey and Millie Cumming, both pairings with 27 points. Line balls went to the Sam Bailey/ Millie Cumming partnership who also took out the Nearest the Pin on the 3^rd hole. Nearest the Pin on the 7^th hole was Sheryl Sargent/Nikki Coffey.  Shelly Comerford continues to have some stand out play taking out the straightest drive on the 5^th Hole, while the Best Score for the Front 9 was the Linda Terry /Sue Parsons partnership.

Congratulations to Sheryl and Nikki and good luck when you compete against other club winners in October.

There were no players for Thursday’s competition.

Saturday’s game was a 4BBB Stroke event. The pairing of Sue Parsons and Marion Sargeant won with 71nett from Shelly Comerford and her partner Louise Calvert – Jones with  nett 72. Nearest the Pin on the 3^rd was Millie Cumming/ Sam Bailey, making up the 6 players that turned out for the game.

Our Cancer Bowl Day is only a week away, August 1^st, so ladies can you please have all donations for the Hampers in by Monday July 30^th.
