  • “Quiet Week of Golf for Ladies”

The winter weather seems to have put a dampener on the ladies golf this week. There were no starters for either the Tuesday or Thursday 9 hole Stableford competitions.

“Braving the winter weather on Wednesday, keen golfers Glenis Skinner, Millie Cumming, Marion Sargeant, Patsy Smiles, Marg Franke-Williams, Sam Bailey and Marion Mitchell”.

Wednesday’s golf was threatened by dire predictions for the weather, however after some discussion, seven ladies headed out for a Stableford round. The round was in fact played in fine weather with the sun appearing at times. Marg Franke-Williams continued her winning streak taking out the prize with 27 points from Glenis Skinner on 26 points. Line balls went to Marion Sargeant, Marion Mitchell and Millie Cumming.

Four ladies enjoyed the sunshine on Saturday for a Stableford round. Millie Cumming won with 30 points from Sue Parsons on 27 points. Millie Cumming also travelled to Tarrawingee with Glenis Skinner and Lesley Anderson on Friday to play in their Bowl. With their knowledge of her game, Millie was included in the winning Small Teams competition by ladies from other Clubs. These small Clubs like Tarrawingee, are always appreciative of the support from Mansfield ladies.
