• Ladies Golf Report – Week ending 21 July 2019

  • Our week commenced with seven ladies travelling to Yarrawonga to play in the Black Bull inaugural Ladies Bowl. This is a relatively new, privately owned, beautiful course in Yarrawonga and we all enjoyed the experience of their huge wide fairways, extensive bunkers and quite a bit of water to avoid! No-one enjoyed it more however, than our in-form Lyn Poulson, who won B Grade with a lovely 37 points. Marion Sargeant also played beautifully to take out the runner-up prize for C Grade with 35 points and only missing the major prize on a count back.
The team of Lyn Poulson, Sheryl Sargent and Linda Brook were very unlucky to just be pipped by one point for the Bowl team event.

At home the Tuesday 9 hole stableford event was won by Glenis Skinner with a very nice 17 points.

On Wednesday 6 teams of girls contested the club qualifier for the Golf Australia, Doris Chambers 4BBB event.
For the second year in a row our Club President, Nikki Coffey scored the win, this time pairing with Nicki Cooper, coming out on top with 27 stableford points. Nikki and Nicki will play in one of the two State Finals of this annual event at Gardiners Run in October. Well done girls.

On Saturday just 3 ladies played – the rest probably scared off after last week’s conditions! The winner of the stroke round was Millie Cumming with a very nice 75 nett.
Finally, our first winter golf practice session for those ladies wanting to give golf a go will be held this week with the next one scheduled for Sunday 4th August. Check out the details on the Mansfield Golf Club website and register if you’d like to take part.
