• Ladies Golf Report – Week ending 19th August 2018

  • Ladies played golf on Tuesday and Wednesday however the weather then set in and Thursday and Saturday were spent elsewhere away from the Course.

9 Ladies played Stroke on Tuesday with Lorraine Wilson winning with 40 points despite her ball being up a tree.

    Ball stuck in the tree

Not sure how she played that one! Lorraine won on a countback from Anne Watkins.

On Wednesday, the ladies all wore yellow ribbons in memory of Jarrod Lyle and his brave battle with cancer.

Wednesday was also the start of the qualifying rounds for the Royal Women’s Hospital 4BBB. 16 ladies played Stableford in teams of two.  The scores were very close but Linda Terry and Nicki Cooper won on the day with 37 points.  Anne Watkins and Glenis Skinner were runners up with 36 points.  All four ladies will play in the semi-finals to be held shortly at Yarrawonga.  Good luck to all.

Line balls went to the teams of Shelly Comerford and Millie Cumming and Sheryl Sargent and Nicki Coffey, all on 35 points and Donna Sedgman and Shirley Nolan on 34.

Donna hit a great shot to win NTP on 16th and Sheryl Sargent hit the 3rd green, I assume also with a great shot, but I did not see that one!

Our ladies’ President, Glenis Skinner would also like give a thank you to all  the bingo night players for their support in our effort to raise money for cancer research.

All of the ladies fundraising efforts have resulted in a cheque for approximately $1,800 being sent to the Cancer Council Victoria.  A terrific effort from our small group of lady golfers and supporters.
