  • “Great Score for Medal of Medal Winner”

    Club President, Marion Sargeant congratulates Louise Calvert-Jones on her Medal of Medal win

    The annual Medal of Medal was contested by eight winners of the Monthly Medals during the year.  Louise Calvert-Jones was a very clear winner of this very important Club event with a fantastic net 69.  Well done Louise!

    On the day, 24 ladies also played the Stroke event.  Sue Parsons won Division 1 with another great score of net 69 from Lyn Holland with net 70.  Division 2 was of course won by Louise Calvert-Jones from Shirley Nolan with net 72.  Line balls were well deserved with net 74’s from Marion Sargeant, Millie Cumming, Nikki Coffey and Lesley Anderson and Marg Knapp with net 75.

    Nearest the pins were Andrea Marsden on 3rd and Donalee Ross on 16th.

    Our professional Dan Robertson made it another interesting day with his Pro Comp.  Lesley Anderson and Shirley Nolan had best scores on the Par 3’s, Nikki Coffey and Lyn Holland best scores on holes 7 to 12, closest chip was Patsy Smiles and Linda Terry won the putting.

    For the rest of the week, Donalee Ross won Tuesdays 9 hole Stableford with another great score of 19 points from 4 other ladies.  Thursday’s 9 hole Stableford was contested by 8 of our lady golfers.  Division 1 was won by Sue Parsons with 17 points and Division 2 by Lorraine Wilson with 16 points.

    Finally, Saturday’s Par competition was played by 9 ladies.  Glenis Skinner, now no longer with her responsibilities of Ladies President, won with +1 from Millie Cumming on -1.  Line balls won by Donna Sedgman, Sue Parsons, Lesley Anderson, Lyn Holland, Gayle Wells and Anne Watkins.  Nearest the pin on 3rd went to Lyn Holland.

    Congratulations to Tony Cooksey and his team for a beautiful course producing some great scores.
