    Congratulations this week go to Neil Walker for his monthly medal win on Saturday.

    Now for this week’s results.

    Tuesday’s event saw a field of 20 players out contesting a par event.

    The winner was Laurie Harcus (23) with a great score of plus 4 on a countback from Taki Murakami (13).

    Ball rundown went to minus 2. Nearest the pin on the 9th was Peter Dolling, on the 16th was Neil Walker, and the Pro pin was collected by Bill Speed. The best score on holes 13 – 16 was Laurie Harcus.

     

    Thursday’s event saw a field of 59 very happy souls fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event, as well as three gold participants.

    The winner of Division One was Jarrod Heath (15) with 39 points from Geoff Payne (13) with 38 points.

    The winner of Division Two was John Gilson (30) with a great score of 42 points from David McKenzie (29) with 39 points.

    Ball run down went 34 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Clive Marsden on the 7th, Rod Sargent on the 9th, Bill Parsons on the 12th and Adrian Smith on the 16th, and nearest the pin 2nd shot on the 18th went to Bill Speed. Dan Robertson took out the pro pin on the 3rd.  The best score on the even holes went to Roger Eddy, whilst the best score on holes 13 – 18 was shred between Rod Sargent and Bill Speed. The novelty prize of the 10th best score on the even holes also went to Rod Sargent.

    There were 2 rabbits for the day, being Maurie Walsh and Martin Slack.

    The Gold event saw Geoff Lowry (33) still continuing his good form taking out the event with 32 points.

    Snake Pit (146 points) DEF Bye (100 points)

    Eagle Hunters (126 points) lost to TMG’s (139 points)

    Eagles and Birdies (102 points) lost to Real Deals (136 points)

     

    Saturday’s event saw a field of 48 players contesting the September Monthly Medal, sponsored by Mark’s IGA.

    The winner of Division 2 and the medal was Neil Walker (26) with a nett 69 from Peter Dolling (22) with nett 71 on a countback from Trevor Wright (20).

    The winner of Division 1 was Mark Bettany (5) with nett 71 on a countback from Phil Conway (10), and third was Mark Jones (8) with nett 74.

    Ball run down went to nett 76. Nearest the pins were Nick Siperki on the 7th, Bill Parsons on the 9th, Glenn Douglas on the 12th and Steve Chisholm on the 16th. The pro pin on the third and nearest the pin second shot on the 18th were claimed by Adam Holt. Best Score holes 13 – 18 was shared by Mark Jones, Peter Dolling and Neil Walker. There were fifteen players who bettered their handicap on the front nine. The JD Perks scratch winner was Mark Bettany with 76 gross.

     

    Tip for this week:

    Many golfers allow their hips to sway during the golf swing, rather than rotate. This causes all kinds of trouble and leads to a variety of mis-hits.
