• Golf Report – Week ending 17th December 2017

  • Congratulations this week go to the winning 4BBB team of Clive Marsden and Greg Millott, as well as Frank Zeidler for his fine score in the “GOLD” event on Thursday.

    Now for this week’s results.

    Tuesday’s event saw a field of 25 players out contesting a stableford event.

    The winner was Geoff Morris (19) with 38 points on a countback from Adrian Lewis (32).

    Ball rundown went to 34 points. Nearest the pin on the seventh was Domingo Diaz, the 16th was Steve McMahon, and the Pro pin was collected by Peter Baddeley. The best score par threes went to Geoff Morris, whilst the best score on par fours was shared by Brad Grant and Chris Leaman.

     

    The Wednesday afternoon Daylight Savings competition was a nine hole par event held over the back nine with only a small field due to the rather warm conditions.

    The winner was Alan Eustace with a score of square on a countback.

     

    Thursday’s event saw a field of 54 happy and smiling souls fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event, as well as six gold participants.

    The winner of Division One was Peter Morgan (14) with a great 42 points from Steve McMahon (7) with an impressive 41 points. (2 over the card)

    The winner of Division Two was Perrin Gooding (25) with also with a great 42 points from Jeremy Drew (21) losing on a countback again.

    Ball run down went 36 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Tony Pridham on the seventh, Martin Slack on the ninth, Brad Grant on the 12th and Gordon Jeffs on the 16th, and nearest the pin second shot on the 18th went to Maurie Walsh. The pro pin on the third went to Dan Robertson. The best score on holes 7-12 went to Jeremy Drew. Six players shared the two’s on par threes pool.

    There were 2 rabbits for the day, being Adam Holt (again) and Roger Eddy.

    The Gold event saw Frank Zeidler (25) return to form with a magnificent 48 points, with Graeme Smith (31) runner up with an equally impressive 43 points.

     

    Saturday’s event saw a field of 21 pairs contesting a 4BBB Par event with some extremely hot scores returned.

    The winning team of Clive Marsden and Greg Millott had a runaway score of plus 14 from Dave Hurle and Blair St Anne with plus 12.

    Ball run down went to plus 10 on a countback. Nearest the pins were Kane Blunt on the seventh, Clive Marsden on the ninth, Bill Parsons on the 12th and Mark Jones on the 16th. The pro pin on the third and NTP second shot on the 10th were both claimed by Adrian Smith, whilst the NTP third shot on the 15th went to Mark Jones.
